Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
By using Opal, signing in to the website, creating a profile or adding Opal to a Discord server, you agree to these Terms and to comply with Discord's applicable rules. If you do not agree, do not use Opal.
2. Service description
Opal provides Discord staff-management features and optional public website profiles. Features may change, be improved, suspended or discontinued over time.
3. Discord authentication
Website accounts authenticate through Discord OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining control of the Discord account used to access your Opal website account. If you lose control of that Discord account, contact Opal support as soon as possible.
4. Public profiles
Profile owners are responsible for information, images and links they choose to publish. Do not publish content you do not have the right to use, private information about another person, malware, phishing links, illegal content, impersonation, harassment or material that violates Discord's rules or applicable law.
Opal may remove profile content, restrict profile access, disable accounts or revoke links when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security issues, legal requirements or violations of these Terms.
5. Profile customization
Opal intentionally limits customization to approved profile details, images, appearance options and social links. Users may not attempt to inject or execute custom HTML, CSS, JavaScript or other code through profile inputs or uploads. Profile image storage and upload frequency are subject to service limits designed to prevent abuse.
6. Badges and representation
Service-controlled badges such as Opal, Administrator, Staff, Developer or Verified may only be assigned by Opal. Users may not falsely claim official affiliation or attempt to imitate protected badges or service roles.
7. Server administrator responsibilities
Administrators who add or configure the Discord bot are responsible for having authority to install applications, choosing appropriate roles and permissions, restricting private management/log channels and using staff-management records lawfully and fairly.
Opal is a community-management tool and is not legal, employment, HR or compliance advice.
8. User-submitted reviews and records
Where enabled, members may submit reviews about eligible staff. Management may delete abusive or inappropriate reviews and restrict feature access for abuse. Notes, warnings and other internal records are created by community management; Opal does not independently verify that every record or decision is accurate or appropriate.
9. Acceptable use
You may not use Opal to violate law or Discord's rules; harass, threaten, dox or unlawfully discriminate; distribute malware or phishing; probe or exploit the service; gain unauthorized access; evade restrictions; automate abusive traffic; scrape private dashboard data; or interfere with service availability or security.
10. Availability
We aim to keep Opal available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Discord outages, Cloudflare outages, maintenance, software defects or security incidents may affect the service.
11. Account and service restrictions
We may restrict, suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to stop abuse, protect security or stability, comply with platform requirements or applicable law, or address serious Terms violations. Users can delete their website account from the dashboard.
12. Third-party links
Profiles can contain links to third-party websites. Opal does not control or endorse those destinations. Visit external links at your own risk.
13. Privacy
How Opal handles information is described in the Privacy Policy.
14. Intellectual property
Opal's service, branding and private source code are owned by the Opal operator or applicable licensors except for third-party components used under their respective licenses. Users retain responsibility for content they upload and grant Opal the limited rights necessary to store, process and display that content as part of the service.
15. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Opal is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without guarantees of uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose or error-free operation.
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Opal operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use Opal. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
17. Changes
These Terms may be updated when Opal's functionality or applicable requirements change. Material changes may be announced through the official Opal Discord.
18. Contact
For questions about these Terms, contact us through the official Opal Discord.
